The Swansea Bay Community Green Spaces Toolkit aims to help communities make greater use of publicly and privately owned green spaces within their neighbourhoods and become more involved in how these are managed and improved for community benefit.

A community green space is an outdoor space available for community use e.g. a park, a community garden, a community allotment or a wildlife area. It is often also a place where the community is involved with its design, development, management and maintenance. Green spaces can help build more resilient communities, providing opportunities for recreation, learning and individual benefits that, in the long term, can reduce dependence on health and other public services.

Swansea Bay Community Green Spaces Project is a partnership initiative led by Swansea Environmental Forum.
This toolkit was initially developed as part of the Big Lottery Community Voice Programme supported by Swansea CVS and was recently expanded with Welsh Government funding and additional support from Neath Port Talbot CVS.
